The Infantry Assault Badge by Bernhard Heinrich Mayer's Hofkunstprägeanstalt (Pforzheim)

Notes to remember:

Materials used: Buntmetall and Zinc. As with other Heer combat badges Bernhard Heinrich Mayer IABs are almost identical in design to Frank & ReifCompany IABs. There are many interesting theories surrounding these two makers. One of my best friends is of the opinion that Frank & Reif didn't make buntmetall badges at all, and that we are wrongly assigning hollow buntmetall IABs, GABs and PABs to Frank & Reif, when in fact these were made by Bernhard Heinrich Mayer's Hofkunstprägeanstalt in Pforzheim . In his opinion Frank & Reif was only a contractor for B. H. Mayer. While I find this theory very interesting, I know that it would be almost impossible to prove.
One of variants from this maker features a classic ÜÜ hardware setup. Please see pictures from bottom of this page for details.
