The Infantry Assault Badge by Frank & Reif (Stuttgart)

Notes to remember:

Materials used: Buntmetall and Zinc. The Frank & Reif Company of Stuttgart made IABs in hollow, semi solid and solid versions. There are many interesting theories surrounding this maker. One of my best friends is of the opinion that Frank & Reif didn't make buntmetall badges at all, and that we are wrongly assigning hollow buntmetall IABs, GABs and PABs to Frank & Reif, when in fact these were made by Bernhard Heinrich Mayer's Hofkunstprägeanstalt in Pforzheim . In his opinion Frank & Reif was only a contractor for B. H. Mayer. While I'm finding this theory very interesting I know that it would be almost impossible to prove.
