The Infantry Assault Badge by Steinhauer & Lück (Lüdenscheid) |
|
Notes to remember: Materials used: Buntmetall and Zinc. The Steinhauer & Lück Company made IABs (just like their GABs and PABs) in hollow and solid versions. The early hollow badges were made from buntmetal and are highly sought after by collectors. S&L badges can be found with many hardware variants. One variant is very similar to Juncker used hardware, which was the main reason many people mistakenly connected them to the Juncker Company. However, strong evidence (from other combat badges) now connects them to the Steinhauer & Lück Company (please check for a detailed explanation in Frank Heukemes book).
