The Panzer Assault Badge - "Rocky"

Notes to remember:

Materials used: Zinc. This badge was made by an unknown maker; it is usually referred to as the "Rocky". The "Rocky" is a very interesting variation of the "Flat back" PAB. This badge is characterized by very irregular cut-outs made by workers as a side product of heavy hand finishing. The "Rocky" PAB exist also in the so called "Hybrid" version. The main difference between hybrid and classic versions is the flat reverse (the classic "Rocky" is slightly scooped). Both variants feature "saw marks". Please note, the very specific die flaw on the lower part of the "Rocky Hybrid" right eagle wing. This die flaw looks like the digit "7". It is worth noting that exactly the same obverse die flaw could be found on "RS" made PABs. However, at this point there is not enough evidence to link the "Rocky Hybrid" to Rudolf Souval as the maker. Please check the pictures at the bottom of this page for details.

Rarity scale: Silver or bronze grade 6/10; bronze grade 6.5/10
